About Me

Greetings! My name is Zulma Whiteford and I have been a teacher for the past 18 years. I am currently a Technology teacher and the STEM Coordinator at St. Louis School in Clarksville. I am also a member of the Discovery Education Network (DEN) Leadership Council, the Maryland STEM Festival Board of Directors and the How Girls Code Programs Board.

I grew up in San Juan, Puerto Rico where I attended Academia del Perpetuo Socorro and came to the states for College.
I graduated from the College of Notre Dame in Baltimore with a BA in Political Science and a Minor in History.  I earned a graduate certificate in Technology Leadership from Goucher College and a masters in School Administration at Loyola University.

On a more personal note, I am the proud mother of two childen. Brooks is a Computer Science graduate from St. Mary's College in Southern Maryland and is now in charge of Creative Services for Harman International. Britty is a graduate from the University of Maryland, College Park where she majored in Public Relations with a minor in Art History and is now working as a publicist for Netflix in LA. In addition to playing on the computer, I enjoy spending time with my husband, kids, and grandkid, reading, gardening and hanging out by the pool.

I am passionate about teaching and believe that everyone can learn as long as the instruction is delivered in a manner to reach and engage al learning styles. I hope you visit this blog often to find a variety of learning resources, useful articles, fun family activities and more.
