Make Way for Ducklings

What should you do if you encounter an injured or lost wild animal? Last week I found a baby duck outside of a busy restaurant in Columbia after a storm.  The baby duck had gotten separated from his mother and was scared.  Several good samaritans were watching out for him fearing that he would get stepped on.  Everyone hoped the mother duck would return, but after waiting for a couple of hours and searching around the parking lot we knew the chances were small.  It was then we decided we should bring him to Frisky’s Wildlife and Primate Sanctuary in Woodstock, Maryland where he was received with open arms and immediately placed under a warming light.

The sanctuary is a non-profit organization that accepts injured, orphaned or displayed wild animals and rehabilitates them in hope to return them back to their natural environment.  To find out more about their great work and consider supporting them visit: http://www.friskys.org
