Top 10 Things I learned at DENSI 2015

I always look forward to seeing my DEN friends from near and far and exchanging ideas with a group of intelligent and dynamic educators. Thank you, Discovery Education, for creating such a powerful venue for learning and collaboration.

As I digest and decompress from this adult summer camp, with apologies to David Letterman, here are the Top Ten Things I Learned at DENSI 2015:

10. Duct tape can be used to prevent flat sheets from sliding off a slippery, short mattress.

9. Grilled cheese sandwiches should be one of the four basic food groups.

8. Prohibition was not repealed everywhere!

7. Time travelling back to 1985 is a lot more fun with DEN friends.

6. Some teams are far more successful in the DENmazing Race when there is no geocaching involved.

5. Not everyone from the United Kingdom dresses as if they live in Downton Abby.

4. Coding is quickly becoming a fundamental skill for primary education.

3. DENSI should always overlap Amazon Prime Day, especially for sales on Ozobots.

2. Spotlight on Strategies (S.O.S.) are a fun and efficient way to engage your classroom.

1. I am reminded that the DEN is more than a PLN; it is my extended family!
